Public Notice: South Mill Street Improvements - Jokerst Park
The City of Festus is in the process of completing a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) evaluation for the addition of a sidewalk along S. Mill Street, adjacent to Jokerst Memorial Park. Completion of the NEPA evaluation is anticipated in August 2020.
The project area has been evaluated and requires Section 4(f) documentation. Total park area is approximately 11.6 acres and the improvements will affect approximately 0.09 acres of the park along S. Mill Street for construction of the sidewalk.
Below is a location map identifying the Section 4(f) property.
Access to Jokerst Memorial Park will not be affected by the construction. Patrons wishing to use the park can still access it through the main entrance on Clyde Street. Construction of the sidewalk will not close or disrupt any of the park’s facilities. Work on the project is expected to begin in the Spring of 2021 and will take approximately 3-4 months to complete.
