[ARCHIVED] WinterFest

large red four wheeled carraige filled with people pulled by a big white draft horse that has a whit

WinterFest is Festus' official kick off to the holiday season!  This family and wallet friendly event begins at the First United Methodist Church for Breakfast with Santa at 8am.  After breakfast be ready to tackle Snowzilla, Jr, the inflatable mini golf course and another inflatable for the young ones which will all be located on the parking lot of the 1st UMC church.  Across the street on the library parking lot you will find ice skating (regardless of the weather!), a petting zoo, carriage rides (start at 3pm), and music.  Along Main St between Walnut and Mill you will find vendors who would love to help you check items off your holiday gift list.  Available for most of the day will be two face painters and a balloon artist.  Later in the day be amazed as the fire performer twists and twirls with their flaming batons!  Did we mention this event is also wallet friendly?  A freewill donation will be accepted for breakfast, there is NO CHARGE for any of the inflatables, ice skating is $2 for 30 minutes, visit the animals to your heart's content, but bring some change for the bubble gum type machines to purchase feed for them if you'd like, taking the carriage ride will cost $5 per person or $15 for four people so gather some friends and save some money! Whatever you do, DO NOT forget your camera!  You will want to snap some shots with Santa - he loves to be in selfies! - and you'll want pictures to help you remember this fun and family filled day all year 'round!
