The irresistible sound of soaring trumpets, robust trombones, wailing saxophones and that swinging rhythm section…the sound of The MOBB.  The Missouri Big Band is a swinging, screaming and roaring 17-piece St. Louis Big Band that celebrates the best Swing and Jazz big band music of all time.

The MOBB features well-known music from such iconic big bands as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Woody Herman and contemporary big bands like Buddy Rich and Gordon Goodwin, plus original compositions by band members.

Led by lifetime music educator and musician Joe Pappas, this St. Louis area big band plays a variety of Jazz, Swing and Jazz-Standard music that appeals to all ages. From the classic “In the Mood” to contemporary Jazz Greats.

Join us for a night under the stars listening and dancing to The Missouri Big Band under the direction of Joe Pappas and featuring vocalist Joe Scalzitti! We invite you to bring lawn chairs, blanckets, coolers and picnic baskets to this FREE event that is wholly funded by the Festus Tourism Commission.
