  3. Osage Removal in Missouri

    The removal of Native Americans east of the Mississippi River began in the 1700s. The Cherokee Trail of Tears is one such story, and, sadly, it is the only removal story that is widely recognized. Every tribe has its removal story - and these stories continue to unfold to this day. Professor Chris Otto of Jefferson College will present the story of the Osage Removal from Missouri and offer some insight into their life in Oklahoma.

  1. Jefferson County Water Authority Meeting

    The Jefferson County Water Authority meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 10:00 am in the Council Chambers. The board is made up of 6 board of directors; three from the City of Festus and three from the City of Herculaneum. The chairman resides over the meeting and is open to the public.

  3. Mayor's Fall Cruise

    September 21, 2019, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ The car show starts at 2pm on the city's parking lot on S Second at S Mill, the cruise itself will be on Main St, and Hillbilly Authority will play on the Library's parking lot (400 W Main) starting at 7pm.

    It's time to get your favorite ride out of the garage and get is shined up - doesn't matter if it's a show car or your daily driver - just needs to be something you want to show off! The car show starts at 2pm. We ask that you register so that we have an idea of how many commemorative dash plaques are needed. Cruise to your heart's content starting at 6pm and then enjoy Hillbilly Authority on the library parking lot at 7pm. Concessions will be available to purchase.
